Stupid laws in Italy

1. It is illegal to die in the Italian village of Falciano del Massico, a village of 3,700 people some 50 kilometres from Naples in southern Italy, as issued by the mayor (tongue-in-cheek).

This law issued by Mayor Giulio Cesare Favabecause the village has no cemetery and it is feuding with a nearby town that has one — creating a logistical problem about what to do with the deceased.

The mayor told newspapers that villagers are content.

“The ordinance has brought happiness,” he was quoted Tuesday as saying. “Unfortunately, two elderly citizens disobeyed.”

2. It is illegal to practice the profession of charlantry.

3. A man may be arrested for wearing a skirt.

4. Striking someone with a fist is considered a felony.
